The interplay between impression management and digitalisation of voice conversations in organisations using AI Meeting Assistants

Research seminar

👉🏼 Work practices related to meetings in knowledge-intensive organisations are changing: who said what and how can be digitalised, stored and retrieved later. Although meeting recordings are not new, the scholarship on using technologies that record, transcribe, summarise and analyse meeting conversations is sparse. AI meeting assistants (like Otter, Fathom and Sembly) started by making meeting content visible, traceable, sharable and searchable and are now on their way to transforming the nature of organisational conversations and how they are practised. Laura will present her research to date, illuminating how these technologies change employee behaviours.

The seminar will be conducted in English.

About the presenter: Laura Hefer is a PhD Candidate in the Business Information Systems discipline at the University of Sydney. Her qualitative research explores how employees engage with AI meeting assisting technologies and how they experience their presence and outputs. More about Laura Hefer on LinkedIn.
